The Tri Valley Trailblazers is a non profit recreational equestrian group with approximately 60 members primarily from the San Francisco East Bay area. The organization has been in existence since the late 1960's, when it was begun as a Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory employee club. The organization is now open to the public and has not been directly affiliated with LLNL since the early 1980's, although several original members still belong.

The Trailblazers meet monthly on the second Wednesday of each month at the Livermore Farm Bureau. Monthly Club rides are scheduled, along with several weekend campouts during the year. Other events provided have been play days, safety clinics, participation in local parades, educational speakers and educational clinics. The Trailblazers, ocasionally host a fundraising event, usually in October, to raise funds toward various local equestrian-related projects supporting parks and trails. The organization serves to stimulate interest in all matters that pertain to the use, enjoyment, care of or improvement of horses, safety and horsemanship, preservation of and enhancement of trails.

The Tri Valley Trailblazers is a nonprofit association in accordance with the laws of the State of California.

Chief Joseph and other great leaders led 800 men, women and children plus 2000 Appaloosa horses, battling the US army all the way. The Appaloosa Horse Club follows a 100 mile section of this historic trail every summer for the past 45 years. It takes 13 years to complete a cycle. The riders must own or lease a registered Appaloosa horse.
